Summary of Paper: As students enter the middle grades, they are embarking on a critical time in their educational pursuits that could impact their careers and livelihoods (Advance CTE, 2020). At the same time middle school teachers are faced with teaching content that requires the use of technology designed to educate and support their students in making career decisions. With new innovations there are pros and cons; the purpose of this research is to examine potential benefits and barriers of technology integration.

Title: Fulfilling Our Moral Obligations While Teaching with Technology

Summary of Paper: The importance of this study lies in the sharing of feasible, morally sound teaching strategies that technology-using educators may need. Although many teachers claim to be passionate about teaching and learning with technology, the enthusiasm for implementing ICT frequently conceals unintended effects that result in unethical and immoral teaching methods. The issue is that when using technology to teach, teachers frequently fail to uphold their moral duties. Therefore, these effects frequently result in the exploitation, abuse, and misuse of technology. Therefore, it is imperative to ensure that students are introduced to ethical issues surrounding the use of technology in the classroom together with cutting-edge information and communication technology (ICT).

Title: The Influence of a Credit Bearing Readiness Activity on Student Preparedness for Learning through a Self-regulated Study Process

Summary of Paper: The presentation's main subject is getting students ready to learn. We will discuss the impact of a credit-bearing activity on determining how well-prepared a student was to engage in a unit of study. The goal is to increase a student's chance of success by exposing them to a self-regulatory study process called Readiness Activity. This session explains how a previously proposed pedagogical and didactical innovation—which was based on input from a prior INTED session—was actually put into practice. The fundamental justification for such a learning and teaching style is that teachers frequently waste time discussing the rules, expectations, and structure of a course or unit of study at the start of a course or unit of study. Whereas a self-regulated learning process can lessen the need for students to query already-provided knowledge.

Course Title - ERSH 6200 - Research Methods in Education
Theme: Technology-enhanced classroom environments
This research proposal was designed to evaluate the benefits of hybrid learning for secondary school students in the Caribbean. It also would explore the pros and cons of integrating technology into the classroom. It was written as a research proposal idea for ERSH 6200. I plan to reconstruct it so that I can write a position paper to submit to a journal or at a conference during my PhD program.
